ABOUT ME
Founder of 'Sound Vocals' - Alicia Tucker
My name is Alicia Tucker and I am a 24 year old vocal coach currently living in Courtenay British Columbia. I was born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand and have been living in Canada since the end of 2020, which was when I moved here to marry my lovely Canadian husband.
I grew up singing competitively and even qualified to compete at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, where I won a bronze medal in the Country Music category. However, Country music is not the only genre I am trained in. I spent a year traveling to various cities across New Zealand winning competitions with a jazz band I was a part of. I also spent years doing musical theatre and singing classical music in choirs. I believe what separates a good singer from a great singer is the ability to master a variety of genres and styles, and that is a philosophy I bring into my vocal coaching sessions with every client.
After years of competitive singing, industry level vocal training, and a major in expressive arts, I have felt my passion for both singing and teaching others how to sing only grow stronger, which is why I created my vocal coaching company 'Sound Vocals', where I can share my knowledge and experience with you and help you to be the best singer you can be!

The prices listed below are per lesson. Please note that lessons are sold in seasonal packages and not individually.
Winter package: January 9th - March 17th (10 weeks)
Spring Package: April 3rd - June 9th (10 weeks)

The Vibrant Vocalists are a group that is held every Thursday from 6pm - 7pm at Vireo Dance Studios 4th Street Courtenay. We welcome all children aged 9-12. In this group we focus on introducing children to singing in parts, stage presence and improving vocal technique. Each lesson of the term costs $25. The performance costume costs $50 and is mandatory.

Private lessons (in person)
No matter what your skill level or age, our private lessons are uniquely crafted to meet your individual goals. Lessons are held at the client's house for their convenience. Lessons are 45 minutes long and cost $50 CAD. Trial lesson can be arranged upon request.
Private lesson (online)
For those who live outside of the Comox Valley, our online lessons are perfect for you! Our sessions are held on Zoom. Private lessons are uniquely crafted to meet your individual goals. Lessons are 45 minutes long and cost $50 CAD. Trial lesson can be arranged upon request.
'The Melody Majors'
'The Chorus Cubs'
The Chorus Cubs group is held every Wednesday from 4pm - 5pm at Vireo Dance Studios 4th Street Courtenay. We welcome all children aged 6-8. In this group we focus on building confidence, developing stage presence and introducing the children to beginner vocal techniques. Each lesson of the term costs $25. The performance costume costs $50 and is mandatory.
The Melody Majors is an audition only group and is held every Wednesday from 5pm - 6pm at Vireo Dance Studios 4th Street Courtenay. We welcome all children aged 10-13 to audition. In this group we teach our singers how to harmonize by ear, master the art of stage presence, take their basic understanding of vocal techniques to the next level, and support them in pursuing solos within and outside the group. Each lesson of the term costs $30. The performance costume costs $50 and is mandatory.
An individual lesson is a lesson that is sold separately and not as part of my 10 week term. These lessons cost $60 for 45 minutes. These lessons can be as consistent or inconsistent as you please, and are perfect for someone wanting to prepare for a show or a competition.
